Plummers Lodges

Because it's like having your own private fishing reserve at our truly remote yet extremely comfortable lodge. You won't see any other anglers, boaters or float planes during your stay. It's just Anvik River Fishing Lodge and the wildlife on this 120 mile river which is a subsidiary to the Yukon River.

Located over 400 miles Northwest of Anchorage the Anvik River Fishing Lodge really is the only lodge on the entire Anvik River. Our nearest neighbor is about 70 miles down stream in the Athabascan village of Anvik.

Imagine floating down the same river that was used as the original trade route for Russian explorers on their way to the mighty Yukon.

Guests fly on a privately chartered flight from Anchorage to Anvik. Once there the adventure begins with a comfortable boat ride from the shores of the mighty Yukon up the Anvik River to the lodge. Upon arrival at Anvik River Fishing Lodge guests are delighted to find the comforts of home in such a remote area. The hand hewn main lodge houses only eight guests in four rooms, each with private baths and a great room for dining and socializing in. We also offer a private guest cabin that accommodates up to three guests. Imagine a whole week of not seeing anyone else beside our staff and the other guests at Anvik River Fishing Lodge.

Picture yourself reeling in pacific salmon, world record northern pike, artic char, Dolly Varden arctic grayling, white fish and shee fish possibly all in the same day. While part-taking in this incredible fishing you will enjoy close up sightings of sow grizzly bears teaching their cubs to feed on fish, moose , gray and black wolves, otters, beavers and over 50 species of migratory and song birds that make the Anvik their homes.

The food at Anvik River Fishing Lodge is consistently rated top notch by our guests. We serve traditional fare along with vegetables grown in our garden. Bread is baked fresh daily and there are always plenty of fresh cookies and deserts to accompany these hearty meals. Anvik River Fishing Lodge is becoming famous for our Friday night steak and all you can eat king crab extravaganza.

Whether you are a novice or a seasoned angler, fly-fisher or spin caster, you'll have the time of your life reeling in pacific Salmon, trophy Northern Pike, Dolly Varden, Char and Grayling all on the Anvik River. Your guide will take you by jet boat to the hottest fishing you can imagine.

At the Anvik River Fishing Lodge you can spend your days (and with nearly 24 hours of daylight that's a long day) fishing, sight seeing, wildlife watching or just plain daydreaming.

Fish for salmon, trophy northern pike, arctic char, grayling, shee fish and dolly varden at this remote, secluded yet truly comfortable and affordable Alaskan fishing and hunting lodge.

Since the Anvik River is shallow enough to wade and we have almost 24 hours of daylight you can fish right in front of the lodge till late in the evening if you wish. You may also choose to relax in our authentic steam lodge, play cards, chess, board games & horseshoes, or just enjoy the view from our large picture windows or big front deck.

Seven night packages are all inclusive from Anchorage. Anvik River Fishing Lodge outfits self-guided moose and black bear hunts. Limited number of hunters accepted.

The Cliff Hickson family has spent over 20 years in Western Alaska and appreciates the untouched beauty and wonder of the vast wilderness found here. Although they now spend the winter months in Cliff’s native Florida to be closer to family, their hearts will always be in Alaska.

Cliff has fished and hunted in Alaska since the late 1970’s and is an accomplished fly-fisherman as well as spin caster. He’s a gentle soul that can sniff out the best fishing spots day after day. He is always happy to give pointers to novice anglers. After being a remote bush resident for over two decades, he’s got a keen sense of how and where to find big game and is happy to share that information with you.

Cheryl doesn’t get out on the river as much as she’d like to because she is busy at the main lodge making sure every creature comfort is attended to. Her love of cooking is apparent in every meal she serves. She provides down home cooking with a touch of the gourmet thrown in. Having catered banquets of up to 400 people in the past, Cheryl prefers the cozy atmosphere she’s created at the Anvik River Fishing Lodge. Her favorite time of the day is when she can sit down at dinner with the guests and listen to their stories and share her tales of life in the bush.
