For the enthusiastic fisherman, our lakes provide an unbelievable abundance of Walleyes, Northern Pike, Jumbo Perch, Whitefish, Lake Trout, and Speckled Trout. You have to experience it yourself to believe that great fishing is here.

For the avid hunter, our isolated outpost positions offer the sportsman ideal areas to hunt moose and waterfowl.

Opichuan River / Kagianagami Lake - Kag has the most beautiful spring clear water in Northern Ontario. Northern Pike up to an exceeding 30 lbs. have been caught here. Walleye average 3 lbs. plus, and Lake Trout up to 20 lbs. have been caught. Do something different one day and walk down the rapids on the Opichuan River to catch some Brook Trout. Moose hunting at Kag is very good. For more infromation about moose hunting, please inquire. (Wildlife Management Unit 17)

Wayner Lake - A lake all to yourself with miles of river to explore. Northern Pike and Walleye are in abundance here and above average in size. For the adventurer, canoes provide access to unexplored wilderness and fishing grounds. Wayner Lake camp is an ideal area for moose hunting. The riverbanks and lake shores have a lot of moose feed. (Wildlife Management Unit 17).

Makoki Lake - No other cabin on the Lake - Northerns, Whitefish, and Walleye to fill your dreams. Canoes also provide the enthusiastic naturalist the opportunity of enjoying the wilderness. Moose habitat is super, and the big ones are here! (Wildlife Management Unit 17)

Kapikotongwa Lake - In a beautiful spot, the cabin at Kap is standing high overlooking the mouth of the Kapikotongwa River. No disappointments here, for you can fill your stringer of Walleye and Northerns. For a change - move into a Jumbo Perch bed and enjoy, or move on and try for Whitefish. From Kap you will also have access to Melchett Lake, Tenant Lake, and Tester Lake. Moose hunting is great here. Search the riverbanks or call your trophy to the water (Wildlife Management Unit 17).

Melchett Lake - Melchett Lake has fabulous Walleye and Northern Pike fishing. You will have action all day long. Melchett is part of the Kapikotongwa River system and, from here, you have access to Kapikotongwa Lake, Tenant Lake, and Tester Lake. If you're a hunter, you're sure to get your moose here. Talk to us about the area. (Wildlife Management Unit 17)

Meta Lake - An island cabin all to yourself, Meta Lake has crystal clear water with all kinds of Northerns, Walleye, Whitefish and Jumbo Perch that are very active. No matter where you fish on the lake, you will get a lot of action. This is a large body of water with a lot of big fish. On a windy day, the nearby islands will shelter you so that you will not lose a minute of exciting fishing. From Meta - you will also have access to Ara Lake and Brace Lake.

You can drive to Nakina via Highway 584 which leaves Highway 11 at Geraldton or for those who have their own aircraft, there is a 3500ft paved airstrip, here in Nakina. For the fisherman who is pressed for time, he can catch a large airline to either Sault Ste. Marie or Thunder Bay, Ontario, then make a flight connection to Geraldton, then take a taxi the last 40 miles into Nakina.

Arctic Watershed Outpost cabins are pleasantly rustic, some of them are made out of logs while others are out of plywood. The cabins have screen porches and each has an outdoor biffy.

All are completely set out for housekeeping and are equipped with propane lights, stove and refrigerator; water pumps, a wood-burning stove, comfortable sleeping bunks with mattresses and pillow, tables, chairs and plenty of cooking and eating utensils.

The camps also have screened fish cleaning stations for your convenience. Thanks to our customer suggestions, we are working on installing showers at the camps.

The flight into camp is a beautiful experience of its own, as you fly over hundreds of unspoiled lakes, fast flowing rivers and quiet trickling streams accented with wildlife and waterfowl. You will be flown in by either Beaver, Otter or Cessna aircraft, which are well maintained and regularly government inspected.

Each person is allowed 100lbs. of baggage when you fly in to camp, then another 10lbs. on check flight. It must include groceries and beverages. Anything over this involves an extra charge.

Hunting and fishing licences can be purchased in Nakina. Non-resident hunters must bring previous hunting licence to obtain an Ontario hunting licence.
