Plummers Lodges

Clearwater Lodge, accessible only by boat or float plane, is located at the far north end of Clearwater (Burditt) Lake and next to Quill Lake, which leads into the fabulous Pipestone chain of lakes. These sheltered waters harbor many species of gamefish, which include Musky, Lake Trout, Small and Largemouth Bass, Walleye, Whitefish, Yellow Perch and the Great Northern Pike. These lakes are all crystal clear and pollution-free.

The scenery in our area is absolutely beautiful with its inter-connected waterways and high, rocky bluffs covered with stately pines and white birch trees. It'll make you forget about the pressures, burdens and problems of a fast-moving world. This is the place to go for fishing, hunting, relaxing or just plain getting away from it all.

The cabins you will be staying in are all housekeeping, mostly of log construction, solidly built and in good condition. These private cabins are all equipped with electric lighting, refrigerators, coffee brewers, toasters, microwave ovens, and gas ranges, plus the necessary items such as cooking utensils, dinnerware and linens, although we do not furnish towels. We also have a centrally-located shower house and fish freezing facilities at our main location. Our resort is a wilderness camp that we are very proud of.

A short distance from our main camp is the Clearwater Mechanical Portage. This portage will carry you and your equipment into or from the Upper Lakes.

Besides our main camp, we have three outpost cabins, two of which is accessible by boat, and the other accessible by boat and by portaging.

Kishkutena Lake: The Kishkutena outpost cabin is either fly-in or portage in and sleeps 7 people. Some of the Best Muskie fishin anywhere with excellent lake trout and bass fishing as well here.

Dash Lake: The Dash lake outpost cabin is either fly-in or portage in and sleeps 4 people. Lake Trout and Trophy Northern Pike abound in this lake. This is the only cabin on the lake and offers the utimate in privacy, seclusion and relaxation. It's not hard to forget what time or day it is here.

Pipestone Lake: The Pipestone lake outpost cabin is new, accessible by boat and sleeps up to 8 people. The cabin is located at the northwest arm of Pipestone offering excellent fishing for Walleye, Musky,Northern Pike, Lake Trout ,Small mouth and Large mouth Bass. Excellent fishing off the 52' floating dock. This cabin is very secluded and private. Solar powered lights and propane cook stove give this outpost the modern amenities that make staying here so enjoyable.

When entering Canada, you are allowed to bring with you all necessary food supplies, (within reason) plus 1 carton of cigarettes and 40 ounces of alcohol per adult duty free. Additional food supplies may be acquired at Fort Frances, Emo or Sportsman Landing on Clearwater Lake where we will then take you by boat to our resort. Licenses and alcoholic beverages may also be purchased at the landing.

Welcome to Hunters heaven. This area has been one of the best kept secrets for Monster Bucks UNTIL the Dryden buck was killed, once the news got out about this deer possibly being a new World Record everyone learned of our little secret.

Our camp is surrounded by miles and miles of Canadian shield forest. Harbouring some of the largest bucks in the world. Some of these magnificent animals are lucky to ever even see people. Because of hunting regulations and our quest to make sure hunts become successfull all our hunts are guided with 1 guide for every 2 hunters.

Whitetail Deer - Northwestern Ontario is known for it's big bodied deer and horns with mass. One of the most sought after big game animals and definitely an intelligent and elusive creature, these are the deer legends are made of. Unique to our area we are allowed to use hounds as well to hunt for deer, giving the hunter an experience he/she will never forget. Once you have hunted this way and hear the bawl of the hound on the hot scent of a deer and the crashing of the buck coming through the bush right towards you, hunting will never be the same. It is truly an the heart pounding excitement that needs to be experienced to be appreciated.

Black Bear - A true king of the forest, our bears can get over 600 lbs and often are color phased & can be seen in shades of brown and cinammon as well. These hunts are not for the faint of heart, as our stands are within 30 yards from our baits, giving you a heart pounding close up. You will need all of your hunter skills to go after one of these trophy animals. Large sows and boars become very smart and intelligent. And with a nose that can smell food 5 miles away these kings of the forest easily detect subtle changes in smell and abnormal sounds in their kitchen. So sit still, take every precaution regarding your scent and be ready because at any moment that next trophy may walk your way.

Wolf - Northwestern Ontario has some Trophy quality wolves. Our Timber Wolves can vary in colour from traditional grey/sliver to partial black and full black. Packs vary in size from loners to up to 8 wolves. With the milder winters and sky rocketing population of whitetail deer, and little pressure, they have done very well here. Very elusive and seldom seen in the summer, the winters leave evidence of their feasts on the snow and ice. With wolves being so intelligent, it requires excellent hunter skill, scent elimination and patience to meet eyes with one. Using predator calls(rabbit squeal/fawn bleats) definitely is an assett.
