Remote Alaska river fishing for salmon and trout. Our lodge offers fly-in fishing packages catering to small groups. We take only four fishermen at a time so that we can offer lots of personal attention. Packages include lodging, meals, equipment and guide service for a great day of Alaska fishing.
The Deshka River begins just south of Denali. Kroto and Moose Creeks flow south from Denali National Park and join together to form the Deshka River one of south central Alaska's finest salmon and trout rivers. The Deshka River flows south till it meets the Sustina River and flows on down into Cook Inlet and the Gulf of Alaska.
The Deshka River starts at the foot of the Alaska Range and is a clear water river, not glacier fed. The Deshka is a premier Alaska freshwater river. It is well known for its great runs of King salmon (Chinook) and Silver salmon (Coho)as well as large numbers of Rainbow Trout. The river also has large runs of Pink Salmon on even years plus opportunities to fish for Sockeyes (Red) Salmon, Chum (Dog) Salmon, Grayling and Pike. The Deshka is truely Alaskan fishing at its best.
The Deshka River is a relatively slow moving river with sweeping bends, cut banks and gravel bars. There are many pools of varying sizes to fish separated by stretches of quick flowing water.
Accommodations for our guests in the lodge are clean comfortable rooms with private baths. Meals are served in our beautiful dining room with a cozy relaxing atmosphere. We take a maximum of four guests per week so we can concentrate on personal attention for each and every one. You will not feel like a number here.
All our meals are hearty home cooked meals and if you walk away from the table hungry you have no one to blame but yourself. Breakfast is served early so fishermen are on the river at the optimum time. Shore lunches are provided so you can stay out in the hotspots and keep fishing. Dinner and appetizers are back at the lodge in the evening and served early enough so if you wanted to grab your fishing rod and go back out front and fish some more you have plenty of time (if your arms aren't already wore out). After all this is the land of the midnight sun.
At Deshka Wilderness Lodgeyou will experience all this and more. From the moment you arrive in Anchorage the scenery, even for a big city, is breath taking.
