Plummers Lodges

It’s been 21 years since the Gangler family left their days as traveling fishermen from Chicago to become outfitters. Led by a desire to offer Canadian fishing trips as they had never been offered before, their reputation quickly rose to the top of the angling world. Along the way, they pioneered many of the upgrades and innovations now common within the Canadian fishing industry but most of all, take great pride in the delight and satisfaction brought to the thousands of anglers who’ve chosen to fish with them.

Maria Lake Deluxe Mini - Lodge

Maria Lake Mini Lodge was the first of its kind introduced in the Canadian north in 1994.This unique concept combined a small lodge-type setting with the relaxed, unguided atmosphere of an outpost camp.

Although others have since tried to copy the concept, Maria Lake continues to be Canada’s little hidden jewel. Why? The fishing. These lakes offer anglers access to all 4 of the major game fish of Northern Canada. Giant pike and monstrous lake trout inhabit these waters and the lake has produced well over a thousand Master Angler entries.

For comfort and privacy, Maria is limited to only 8 anglers per week. The accommodations offer 4 separate two-person cabins with cozy bedding, modern bathrooms, and thermostatically controlled heat. Relax in the mini lodge with delicious meals prepared by your hosts. And fish your heart out.

Maria is for fishermen who wants great angling and the best of main lodge service with outpost adventure. Ideal for couples. Parties of two, four, six, and eight accepted.

Stevens/Nicklin Lake Deluxe Outpost

Stevens/Nicklin is the North Seal at its finest. The fishing waters are a combination of 3 lake systems interconnected and offer everything from large bays to moving rapids to deep holes to large weed beds. This system stretches over 21 miles from tip to tip.

Each day is one of choices. Guests can start out minutes from camp, hooking fat, golden walleye, then head over to one of the numerous bays to stalk the large. ferocious northern pike. After lunch, test your arm strength battling the huge lake trout that run up to 50 lbs. here. The day is complete with classic arctic grayling action at the exiting rapids of the Laurilla River. A grand slam all in one day!

The camp setting is worthy of a postcard. Two over-sized cabins beckon over a beautiful sand beach, overlooking Nicklin Lake. For comfort, guests will think they are staying at a main lodge with all the amenities available at this outpost. Each cabin sleeps four, featuring spacious living areas with sofas and loveseats, separate bedrooms with hotel style beds, comforters, linens and dressers, fully modern bathrooms with hot and cold water, along with a complete kitchenette with electric fridge, stove, cookware and utensils. All food is provided. Satellite phone is available at this location.

Stevens is the standard by which all deluxe outposts are measured. For the ultimate in outpost fishing AND comfort...Stevens Nicklin Deluxe Outpost!

For many anglers, a great attraction to the Canadian North is different waters’ potential to offer the Canadian Grand Slam – trophy pike, lake trout, walleye, and arctic grayling. The list of Canadian waters where all four of these species actually swim is extremely limited and the lakes which have true trophy potential for all four almost non-existent. It is here where the North Seal rises to the top as one of Canada’s truly unique fisheries. An extremely diverse and fertile watershed, its waters are special and offer an incredible mix of habitat. Trophy fish of all five species (big whitefish too!) thrive here and this combination of size, quantity, and variety is what has quickly made the North Seal Canada’s premier sportfishing destination. 2005 highs were a 50” pike, 44" lake trout, 29" walleye, a 22" grayling, 30" Burbot and a 24" whitefish!

Quantity featured several dozen 200 fish per boat days and the record is 308 fish in one day in one boat.

A typical day on the North Seal is often the epitome of fishing the Canadian North. Slamming big pike every cast, trying to reef up a monster laker, catching a seemingly endless supply of huge walleye, concluding with a final picturesque setting of a your dry fly rushing down a set of rapids to a huge, waiting grayling. Big fish, variety, AND action – this is what sets the North Seal above other Canadian fisheries. You must EXPERIENCE of the North Seal !
