It really doesn't get any better than this. You have a choice now. You can just sit on the shoreline and enjoy the beautiful scenery or you can take your rod and reel and walk along the shoreline and cast for northerns, walleyes and even an occasional lake trout. One thing is for sure, you'd better get rested because you still have the afternoon to go.

Plummers Lodges

WOW! What an invigorating ride out on the lake in the crisp morning air! Look at the bald eagles soaring gracefully overhead, but wait, look at the moose busting into the trees from the shoreline after being disturbed by the early morning intruders. These are your thoughts as you lean back in your spring loaded seat as your guide confidently heads you toward a great day of fishing...and then...you're here!!!

Your anticipation is so intense that you seem to be moving in slow motion as you attempt to quickly snap that brand new "five-o-diamonds" on the swivel hook. Finally you're ready and the first cast of the day slaps against the crystal clear water and then disappears. You go to the power handle and start the retrieve. What's that? Did I feel a tap? Before another thought enters your head, your rod is almost jerked from your hand as the huge northern makes his play for what he thought was going to be an easy breakfast.

JERK, SLASH, PULL, JERK, SLASH, PULL...go man go! Boy, if the guys back at the office could see this! For what seems an eternity, you match wits with the foe on the end of that new line. Gradually the huge northern is sapped of his strength and is brought up alongside the boat to be netted by the guide. But then...as the huge northern sees the boat there is another long run and the fight starts all over. Twenty minutes later, once again the trophy is brought to the side of the boat and this time is netted. Into the boat he comes, all twenty-nine pounds of him!

Won't a replica of that beauty look good on the den wall?

After a full morning of fishing with the sun setting high in the sky, your guide says it's time for lunch. You know what that means. An experience that you have heard about, read about for years, and now it's going to happen.. "The Shore Lunch." Your guide seeks out the perfect spot along the shoreline and gently guides the boat on to the shore. There he will prepare the most incredible meal you will ever eat. Fish fillets from your mornings catch, fried potatoes, and all of the extras.

LURES - Most likely many of the lures you have in your tackle box right now will do just fine. However, one lure that you cannot do without is the "5 Of Diamonds" (#2 size) It's a killer on northerns. A #1 does pretty good on walleye and a larger #5 is great for lake trout.

LAKE TROUT - Large 5 of Diamonds and other large spoons, large Mepps spinners, red eye spoons, magnum Rapellas, Big Doctor spoons, Zara Spooks and any large stick baits and plugs.

NORTHERN PIKE - Five of Diamonds (#2), Doctor spoons, diving baits , crank baits, top water lures, buzz baits.

WALLEYE PIKE - Wally divers, ( purple is a good color ), Little Georges, jigs, all colors flip tails, Rattle Traps and spinner baits.

2002 God's Lake Records:

WALLEYE - 9 3/4 lbs
NORTHERN PIKE - 32 lbs
LAKE TROUT - 68 lbs
BROOK TROUT - 7 lbs
WHITEFISH - 9 lbs
