Why Choose Us?

Well, first look where Lac Seul Airways Fly-in Trips is located. Our airbase is 31/2 hours north of the U.S. Canadian border and from there we fly out 60-170 air miles. What does this mean? It means you are getting into some of the finest lakes in Northwestern Ontario that have had the least amount of fishing pressure.

The majority of the lakes south of Lac Seul Airways Fly-in Trips base at Ear Falls have been fished since the late 40's and early 50's. So, when your trying to decide on a Fly-in lake to fish you need to consider the quality of fishing on the lake your thinking about. Obviously, a lake that has been fished for the past 50 years isn't going to have the quality of fishing that a lake that has been fished only the past 10-20 years. Especially when it comes to catching trophy fish.

So, before you book your next Fly-in, look at a map and see where your lake is located. Is there a logging road in this area; is the lake your thinking about booking accessible by these roads? Does this lake get fished in the winter? All these are questions you should be asking when considering a Fly-in lake. There is a large difference in the quality of these Fly-in lakes and you should try to make sure your getting the best value for your dollar. Sometimes for a few more dollars and a couple hours further to drive north, you can fish one of the better lakes Ontario has to offer rather than one that has been fished from the past 50 yeas or more. Doing this comparison will help ensure you get what you are paying for.

Lac Seul Airways Fly-in Trips has newer, comfortable cabins which are equipped with solar power, gas fridges & freezers, showers, and indoor plumbing. It's nice enough to bring the wives, for sure. Well, with great fishing and comfortable accommodations, what's left?

Equipment consists of 14' Lund boats with swivel boat seats and new 10 and 15hp.outboard motors. We own and operate our own fleet of Otter Aircraft, just to fly our own guests to our camps. Lac Seul Airways Fly-in Trips has scheduled departure and fly out times, and do our best to make sure your trip runs as smoothly and pleasantly as possible, weather permitting. If you don't like the 3.5 hour drive to get to our airbase in Ear Falls, Ontario, fly commercially on Northwest Airlink to International Falls, MN., and either rent a car and drive the additional 3 1/2 hours, or, for an additional charge we will arrange for you to be picked up there at the Border. (minimum of 6 people) required.)

Lac Seul Airways Fly-in Outpost lakes will show you the best Boreal Lake Fishing available in Northern Ontario. We have walleye, northern, and lake trout fishing that is nothing short of spectacular. Oh sure, you might have an off day where a cold front or other nature-related occurrence might have its effects on fishing, but the majority of days will show you fishing most people wouldn't believe.

Our cabins are deluxe compared with the majority of our competitors. We have equipped them with solar-powered and propane lighting, hot and cold running water, showers, fully equipped kitchens and comfortable furniture.

The peacefulness and quietness of our Canadian shield lakes will give you the opportunity to sit back, relax, and reflect on life along with the beauty that surrounds you. When it comes time to leave, you will be able to look back over your past few days, plus take home a limit of beautiful memories of the time you spent on a private fish filled lake far in the Canadian Wilderness.

Our 8 cabins in the North, located 130-170 miles north of our base, are solar powered with indoor facilities, equipped with satellite telephones for emergency use. All cabins have a spectacular view of the lake. Most importantly we have some of the best Walleye and Northern fishing in Northwest Ontario. All our lakes are on river systems so they maintain good fishing all through the summer.

Over the past few years we've maintained a NO TROPHY policy and your chances of catching large fish are greatly increased. Northerns 40" plus and Walleye 25" plus are quite common. Fishing tackle for Walleye should include medium weight with clear 6-8 lb. test line or your favorite ultra-lite rod and reel.

Moose Hunting - Most moose hunting is done along the lake shorelines as well as flowages that are coming into the lake at various locations. You do this from the boat and scout the shorelines particularly in areas where you can easily see tracks and signs such as beaches, mud flats or grassy areas. Each day you need to check these various places to see where the freshest sign is. At these locations, it would be a good idea to stand hunt at day-break and sunset. During the time you’re not stand hunting, you should always be scouting new areas in search of new sign. If you aren’t seeing much fresh sign, then you will need to hunt further inland off the shoreline. You would do this by following the flowage up to beaver ponds and hunting the first ridge running parallel with the lake. If the moose aren’t feeding on the shoreline, they have to be feeding on the upland areas and this sign should be easily recognized. If this is the case, then finding a location to stand hunt in these areas would be productive. In hunting upland areas, you would hunt similar to how you would hunt deer or elk.
