We offer the most variety of fishing styles:
LIVE BAIT - We use different types of live bait like pilchards, herrings, goggle eyes, blue runners and more. Live bait is one of the most productive ways of fishing. We catch live bait before we go fishing insuring that it is the freshest and liveliest bait possible. We teach our customers how to fish for live bait. It is a winner with the little ones!
KITE FISHING - The absolute best way to fish in South Florida. We fly kites in the air and then put our live baits suspended from them. The presentation is the best with no terminal gear in the water to spook the fish. This is competitive tournament fishing at its best and how the majority of tournaments are won in the Miami area. Sailfish can not resist!
NIGHT - Don't forget that many species eat at night, that’s why we do as many trips at night as in the day time. Sharks come into play as well as tarpon. On the reef the snappers are very active and swordfish prey the deep waters of the gulfstream.
DRIFT - Here we go with the current picking up different species as we "walk the ocean". Sometimes we still put kites up or even do some bottom fishing to increase our chances of landing that trophy fish.
TROLL - We use this method when we want to cover a lot of water. We put the lines in the water and keep the boat moving at all times. We deploy wire lines in addition to our regular spread to cover deep water. Excellent when people also want to cruise and relax.
BOTTOM - A favorite of many. What a great way to enjoy fishing in the calm waters of summer pulling snappers, groupers, and many other bottom dwellers. This fish pull hard, but at the end of the fight you got super tasting fish.
Masita II - Our 35-foot Luhrs Sports fisher has twin diesel power engines,
air conditioning, a full bathroom with hot and cold fresh water,
full galley with refrigerator, gas and electric stove plus sink and sleeping accommodations for up to 4 people.
Masita III - The 51-foot Hatteras sports yacht features twin General Motors 435 h.p. diesel engines, fighting chair, outriggers, bait freezer and a 125 sq. foot cockpit. She has a fully air conditioned galley with refrigerator/freezer,
3-Burner Electric Stove with oven and microwave.

A native of Puerto Rico with Cuban heritage, Capt. Carlos Mendez graduated Florida Tech University with a bachelors in Business Administration and Management. After serving in the ARMY he became a commercial airline pilot and still flies part time for a major airline. He has fished all his life around the world in places like North, South, and Central America. He does tournament fishing almost on a monthly basis and has written for several fishing publications. His expertise has made him a popular and sought after freelance yacht Captain.
