Lake Evans has gained the legendary reputation for unexcelled trophy pike and walleye fishing. The massive size and structure of the lake, coupled with the no kill policy on pike make Lake Evans one of the very best fisheries in North America. We have built three outpost camp sites, all with 16' Lund boats, with 30 miles of water between each camp to assure you the secluded privacy not available at lodges or multiple outposts. With the exception of the camp manager, who stays in separate quarters, you are alone! We do have new two way radios and Satellite phones in all of our camps to assure reliable communications.
Crow Bay Camp is located in an eight mile long bay which opens up into the main body of Lake Evans. The bay is formed by the world famous Broadback River, whose mighty rapids are located two miles from the camp and are home of large walleye, trophy pike, and the Assinica strain of brook trout that has made the Broadback known to many anglers. New for 2004 is a portage trail we cut this season for easy accesability to the Braodback River's fishing areas. Moose and caribou sightings are common throughout the fishing season. It produced two 50"+ pike in 2002 and dozens of pike over 46 inches in 2003, including several over 49", with many released in the 40" to 46" range. The cabin is 20' x 24' and accommodates up to eight people. The 16' Big Lake Lund boats with 15 hp motors make your daily fishing safe and comfortable.
Southwest Bay Camp, located on the south side of Lake Evans, is noted for its accessibility to the vast Lake Evans fishery. Dozens of pike in the 15 to 30 pound range are caught and released to these waters weekly. Walleye ranging from 1.5 to 4 pounds are numerous around the points and islands to the south of the camp in the bay. The 20' x 24' cabin has separate bunks for eight. As in all our camps, a generator supplies electric for lighting and the refrigerator and freezer, toaster and fan. Propane supplies back up lighting, hot showers, and fuels the 4 burner stove, oven and outside BBQ grills, complimented with a full array of cooking and eating utensils.
Kirk Island, is located on the Broadback River as it leaves Lake Evans. Built on a scenic bay on the river, it is well protected from the winds of the large lake. Trophy pike over 32 pounds and walleye up to six pounds are numerous around the bays and points of the north end of Lake Evans. Wildlife around the north end of Evans abound, with several Osprey families returning to their nesting grounds each year. The cabin accommodates up to eight; the same fine Lund equipment is supplied here as in the rest of our camps.
