Eagle Lake is located in Northwestern Ontario just 120 miles north of International Falls, Minnesota. Eagle Lake has 68,000 acres of water. With over 400 miles of wooded shoreline and over 400 islands and bays, there is always a quiet spot to fish. It isn’t unusual for visitors to see moose, deer, bear, loons and eagles while out fishing. While Eagle Lake is noted for it’s trophy Muskie, the majority of fishermen come here for the Walleye, Smallmouth Bass and Northern Pike. The beautiful scenery and peacefulness of Eagle Lake is an added bonus for fishermen.
Eagle Lake is located between Kenora and Dryden in NW Ontario, approximately 150 miles from the border crossing at International Falls, MN. At 68,000 acres and over 70 miles long it is one of the areas larger and most diverse lakes in the region. Its waters hold all five major species of sport fish…..walleye, northern pike, musky, lake trout and smallmouth bass providing trophy potential for all species. Eagle lake is the only lake in NW Ontario to have produced muskies over 60 pounds.
Eagle Lake can be viewed as a number of smaller lakes interconnected by narrows and bays with over 400 islands. Its 70 mile length encompasses the shallow, stained waters of the south-eastern portion of the lake....Niven and Osbourne Bays....the mid-depth and clear central portion...Big Eagle, Portage and Vermilion Bays....and the deep, gin-clear West Arm. With the exception of lake trout which inhabit the West Arm, as well as several portage lakes, the remaining fish species can be found from one end of Eagle to the other.
