We are located in beautiful North-East Saskatchewan, Canada, about 3 hours east of the City of Saskatoon, home to an International Airport.
We are pleased to offer hunters the opportunity to hunt world class Whitetail Deer, Black Bear, and the famed Canada Goose, as well as Mallards and other species of migratory bird.
The parkland area of Saskatchewan has a very diverse eco-system. The forest consist of spruce, tamarack, aspen, white and black poplar, and willows of several varieties. The terrain is rolling with swamps and marshes, and numerous lakes and streams. Because of this diversity we are fortunate to have an abundance of moose, elk, deer, bear, waterfowl, as well as numerous other species like coyote, and timber wolves.
Hunting with Pipestone Guiding is always exciting. Many animals will be seen daily, allowing discriminating hunters the opportunity to select exactly the right animal to satisfy their hunting requirements.
We at Pipestone Guiding have been in the guiding and outfitting business for over 15 years, and have lots of experience in making your hunt a memorable one. We offer comfortable accommodations, home-cooked meals, hot baths and showers, television, telephone, and a very friendly atmosphere.
The majority of geese in our areas are Greater and Lesser Canada Geese. Set ups consist of up to ten dozen decoys and we shoot from blinds as opposed to pits.
There are also opportunities for Snow and Blue Geese which are in good supply. An evening duck shoot, primarily for Mallards and Widgeons, is also a popular part of our wildfowl hunts.
It's official, Mike's big bear scored 21 4/16's!
This is the largest bear we've heard of in the province this year. We look forward to photos of Mike's bear standing up in a full mount coming in the near future.
We have other bears of this calibre that we've spotted this spring in our area and presently are baiting. For more information, please contact us.
Our camp runs 100% on opportunity at taking a Black Bear. The area in which we operate also boasts a very high ratio of off color bears ranging from blonde to chocolate.
Our clients hunt from tree stands overtop of feeding stations. All terrain vehicles are used at the camp as the principal means of transporting hunters to their stands although we do have a limited number of stands accessible by truck. Some of our clients choose to hunt from ground blinds, and Pipestone Guiding is pleased to provide those too.
The bear hunt takes place in May and the first part of June each year when the weather is most favorable for tree stand hunting. Our stands can be set up to accommodate archery, muzzle loading, or rifle hunting.
Whitetail Deer hunting in our area is as good as any in Saskatchewan. The North East corner of Saskatchewan has long been known for producing some of the largest Whitetail ever taken. The area that we operate in is a combination of farmland and Provincial Forest, perfect habitant for Whitetail and elk. We are confident that you will have ample opportunity to find the trophy Whitetail that you are seeking.
Typical antler size in mature animals varies from 130 to 200+ (Boone & Crockett) and body weights vary from 200 to 350+.
We operate on a two client to one guide ratio and use tree stands, ground blinds, and feed as our hunting method.
