Shattuck Creek Outfitters

Located in the Clearwater drainage of the Bitterroot Mountains. We outfit for elk, deer, cougar, and bear in game units 6, 8a,10a,11, and 13. We outfit on U.S.F.S , State, and private lands. Our hunts include: horse camp, ATV camp, trailer camp, deluxe lodge, and Cabin. Licensed and Bonded since 1985.

Amon and Barbara Molsee purchased the family business, Shattuck Creek Outfitters, from Andre and Arla Molsee on January 1, 2007. Amon was raised in the outfitting business and has worked full-time for the past 5 years. The friendly, positive atmosphere so enjoyed by 23 years of hunters will continue. Andre and Arla will continue to work in and be an important part of the business.
We study game concentration and movements all spring and summer. This gives us an edge in the field once the season begins. We are the exclusive outfitter for 1150 sq. miles of permitted USFS, State, BLM, and private land, all our hunts are fair chase. High altitude conditions are not a problem, we hunt from 1200 ft. to 6000 ft. elevation. Dark timber, regrowth, and beautiful meadows provide some of the best trophy big game habitat in north Idaho.
Our new Lodge, located near Elk River Idaho, is the headquarters for Shattuck Creek Outfitters and Idaho Whitetail Guides. Amon and Barbara Molsee own and operate Shattuck Creek Outfitters, Andre and Arla Molsee own and operate Idaho Whitetail Guides. We work together to insure a quality hunt and provide first class accomodations to clients staying at the lodge and those coming and going from camps. Cougar, bear, archery and whitetail hunters stay at the lodge during their hunts.
November marks the rut for whitetail deer in north Idaho. You can expect an opportunity at a 130 to 190 BC class trophy. Hunters stay in our lodge and enjoy 5 full days of hunting. You will hunt from ladder stands, ground blinds, and platform huts with heat. We still hunt, rattle, grunt, and use scents, whatever it takes to bring the big bucks into range. 90 % of our whitetail hunters are successful. You can expect temperatures from 25 to 45 degrees and 2 to 6 inches of snow. Hunters may purchase 2 deer tags when available.
Amon Molsee personally guides all cougar hunts. He owns and trains his own hounds, his goal is to provide you with the hunt of a lifetime. Cougar hunting in Idaho takes place during the winter months, the presence of snow enables us to identify the tracks of big cats. During the hunt we travel by 4 wheel drive trucks and snowmobiles. Once a suitable track is located the hounds are released and the chase is on. If snow conditions are favorable success is normally 100%. You will stay in our comfortable lodge or cabin and enjoy home cooked meals.
