Plummers Lodges

Alpine is an established American Plan resort tucked away in a beautiful, secluded lakefront setting. Our authentic log cabins stand among towering pines and overlook scenic Van Vliet Lake. The lake itself is one of three in the spring-fed Presque Isle chain-of-lakes and truly earns its classification as a Class "A" muskie lake.

Here at Alpine Resort, we promote C.P.R. (Catch, Photograph, and Release) of all trophy fish. Our class "A" muskie waters teem with your favorite species and provide plenty of opportunities to do just that. However, we do provide fish cleaning and freezing facilities for eating-sized crappies, panfish, and walleyes.

The Presque Isle area holds over 100 top quality lakes, most of which are overlooked by the usual fishing crowds. That means better fishing and no congestion.

Alpine Resort is located on Van Vliet Lake. At 220 acres with a maximum depth of 22', the lake is simple to learn and fish. Easy access to the smaller Averill Lake and the much larger and deeper Presque Isle Lake is just a short hop away, making available to you a wide variety of fishing possibilities. We will connect you with a reliable guide if you so choose, or you can strike out on your own. Our guests receive lake maps with all the proven hot spots, marked by species, that have been identified over the years.

We are surrounded by the Ottawa National Forest and are close to both Porcupine Mountain State Park and the Sylvania Wilderness Tract. The area provides countless opportunities for the outdoor enthusiast to enjoy the Great Northwoods and experience the splendor of Wisconsin's "Last Wilderness."

When it comes to fantastic hunting, it's hard to beat the bountiful Wisconsin northwoods; especially here in the Presque Isle area. Literally thousands of acres of public and private grounds are available, offering the hunter excellent opportunities to connect with a variety of top game species. Over 100 local lakes and streams call in hordes of migratory waterfowl, and the surrounding wilderness is home to both small and large game. From woodcocks to ruffed grouse, bobcats to black bears, ducks, geese, coyotes, whitetail deer, and more, there is no shortage of game in the Presque Isle area!
