The Lodge has been open since the 60's but has new, experienced owners this season. The Lodge is located on a paved road just north of Senneterre, Quebec, a small community that has grocery stores, a post office, and several restaurants. Our goal is to provide great a fishing and clean friendly accommodations.
There are many attractions in our camp and area for the non-fisherman including prospecting, collecting, driftwood, rocks, Indian relics, picnicking, boating, swimming, sightseeing and just loafing.
The LODGE at Parent Lake is located in the Province of Quebec, on Route 113, six miles North of Senneterre, 270 miles Northwest of Ottawa, 325 miles Northwest of Montreal and 325 miles Northeast of Northbay, Ontario. All routes are paved. The road through La Verendrye Reserve has been greatly improved in the past few years. Bus, train and Airline service is available. Car Rental service is available at the Airport in Val d'Or, 55 miles from the LODGE at Parent Lake.
Parent Lake is located on the southern edge of non-colonized territory. It is a long narrow lake in the setting of evergreen forest with many white sandy beaches. It is one of the very few places anywhere that those who love the great outdoors can find the fishing and hunting so many enjoy. There are also many small lakes, rivers, and streams nearby. Northern Pike and Walleye are the predominant in the area, but also other species.
We plan to have the store open every morning and evening, and longer on weekends this year. We will have some groceries, fishing tackle, souvenirs, and snack food as well as night crawlers, frozen minnows and ice. We will have boat gas in 6 US gallon jerry cans, mixed or pure. The public launch ramps at Mile 9 and Mile 20 are available to all. We also keep boats at a private dock at the 20 Mile mark. We also have the fish-cleaning house, and a freezer for your fish. Exchange rates on U.S. money between 45 and 50 percent over Canadian. This means that your U.S. money is worth about half again as much in Canada.
We will continue to sell fishing licenses, Non-resident licenses for 2003will cost: $52.00 for the season, $22.75 for 3 consecutive days, we also now have a 7 day license for $35.00. A license holder's children under 18 can fish without a license, but their catch counts on the parent's license. The possession limit will be 10 pike and 8 walleyes. A size limit of 12 inches has been put on walleyes.
