George and Jean Lidster invite you to enjoy the best of country hospitality in a beautiful, secure, wilderness setting! George or Jean will welcome you at the main yard. Then they’ll escort you (and your vehicle) along the final half mile of winding road right up to the front door of the cabins. The cabins (or lodges, as some folks call them) are situated in a secluded forest overlooking the Torch River valley. Customized packages can be arranged to include catering, tour guides, day hikes etc. Let the serenity of your surroundings perform its magic! Watch the birds at the feeder! Listen to the sounds of nature morning and night! See the stars and northern lights! Rest and relax in the cozy modern comfort of an authentic log cabin! Now you are free to relax and unwind. Some guests may choose to lounge on one of the screened decks and read that long-awaited special novel. Others bring their computers, hobbies or crafts with them and make themselves at home. You can relax in our lofts and overlook the living rooms of the cabins. After the car ride, you may be ready to put on those hiking boots or skis and explore the surroundings. If you are interested in an interesting snowmobile trek that can be easily arranged. You will be comfortable year round with electric heat or a wood stove.
We have incredible hiking and ski trails. In winter we spend a lot of time making and grooming the trails so they are ready when you come even if we have had a fresh snowfall. The flags mark the beginning of 10 km of cross-country ski trails. We have now combined crossled trails so they are complimentary to the ski trails. George grooms trails of various lengths through forest or river valley to suit the beginner and the avid skier! In spring, summer and autumn, the trails are wonderful for hiking; cycling; viewing birds, wildlife and a wide variety of native plants and trees!
One trail leads to the river. Here you can enjoy the solitude in the gazebo , lounge on the dock, go for a swim, or begin a canoe trip through the primitive scenery of northeastern Saskatchewan. You can see some pictures that people have taken while staying at our cabins.
