Plummers Lodges

Welcome to Tukto Lodge! My name is Bob Huitikka and I've been the owner operator, and pilot for Tukto Lodge since 1994. To our many friends, welcome back. Thank you for making Tukto Lodge such a success. To our new visitors, we invite you to come join us in the Remote Canadian Arctic where you'll experience an unforgettable Fishing Vacation.

Tukto Arctic Fly-In Lodges is located on Mosquito Lake and Dubawnt Lake. Our fly-in lodges are set in a virgin wilderness surrounded by hundreds of crystal clear rivers and lakes, many of which have never been fished before! Simply choose your camp, contact us, and we'll take care of everything including all Flight Arrangements, use of our Brand New Equipment, and home cooked meals.

Mosquito Lake Camp is built to accommodate 12 guests in comfort. It consists of a dining hall with a spectacular view of the lake, modern kitchen, 3 guest cabins (each for 6 people), manager's cabin and equipment building. A modern Duplex guest cabin built in 1999 with showers, flush toilet and solar lighting, with a beautiful view. We also have freezers, fridges, generators, and hot showers! The guest cabins are 3 bedroom frame buildings with interior paneling and floor coverings. Cabins are heated, with all bed linens supplied. We have Zodiacs with 15 hp motors for a thrilling 3 to 4 day, 100 mile trip float, fishing, and camping trip from Mosquito Lake to Dubawnt Lake on the Dubawnt River Chain.

Welcome to the Trout Fishing Capital of the World! Tukto Arctic Fly-In Lodges has reopened Dubawnt Lake and has the only two outposts on the great lake, well known in the past for its HUGE Lake Trout. You'll each be catching an average of 40+ Trout per day, including many 30-40 pounders.

Dubawnt Lake Camp consists of 2 outposts which can accommodate up to 6 guests each. They are equipped with refrigeration, freezers, showers, and satellite telephone. Plus, you'll have full use of our brand new equipment: 16' & 18' Alumarine boats complete with seats, all the gas you need, and 25 & 40 hp Honda 4-stroke motors.

The Lake Trout fishing action is unreal, with numerous trophies caught each year with Tukto Arctic Fly-In Lodges. Known by many sportsmen as the Trout fishing capital of the World. 40 plus pound Trout are caught every year with a 61 pound whopper being the largest Lake Trout taken to date! And with our Catch and Release program these fish are still swimming the waters waiting for you to catch them!

Arctic Grayling flash through the miles of fast water streams and sparkling rapids which provide an unsurpassed challenge for the angler using fly rods and light spinning tackle. And our virgin lakes and streams experience low fishing pressure as the fishing season is short (July-August) which means more fish for you!

For the More Adventurous Types Tukto Arctic Fly-In Lodges has zodiacs (rubber boats equipped with 15 hp motors) trips from Mosquito Lake to Dubawnt Lake on the Dubawnt River Chain. Over three to four days you'll travel over 100 miles, camping out at night, and fishing different lakes and rapids along the way. You're sure to see musk-ox, caribou, white wolves and more along your trip through the Heart of the Northwest Territories.

Explore the untouched beauty of the barren lands right in the heart of the Northwest Territories. Enjoy hundreds of miles of beautiful tundra, and crystal clear rivers and lakes that have not been traveled since the Inuit people inhabited the area many years ago. Summer in the "Land of the Midnight Sun" blossoms overnight with color and beauty.

You can catch the migration of caribou, flocks of geese, peregrine falcons, bald and golden eagles, arctic loons and sandhill cranes. Photograph the wildlife native to the barren lands such as white wolves, musk-ox, arctic hares, ptarmigan and the Richardson ground squirrel known as the sic sic. This is truly a wildlife paradise with Tukto Arctic Fly-In Lodges.
