Golden Eagle Fishing Lodge & Outposts is located on Sickle Lake, approximately 500 miles north of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Golden Eagle Lodge is one of those places that makes up the "final frontier" of Canadian fishing. Teeming with giant northern pike, walleye and lake trout, Sickle is renowned for its trophy fishery.
In addition to Sickle Lake, Golden Eagle Fishing Lodge & Outposts offers its guests the exclusive opportunity to fish on Chicken, Willis, Ghost and Black Trout Lakes. We are the only lodge on Sickle Lake and also the only lodge with access to these other lakes. Having always practised catch-and-release, we have successfully maintained a "world-class" fishery with pike in the 40" - 55" range, and walleyes in 20"-30" range.
Golden Eagle Lodge's catch and release conservation policy maintains a superb stock of angler's delights. Northern Pike are in the 20 pound plus class. Walleye fishing is in the 3 to 6 pound range and is fast and furious, providing for the tastiest traditional shore lunches possible. For an exciting challenge, a short portage will take you into Black Trout Lake. These unique Black Lake Trout range from 6 to 8 pounds and provide the angler with a day full of fun! All of our lakes are abundant with whitefish.
Last Hope Lake:
Last Hope Lake Outpost Camp is a new, roomy insulated 3 bedroom cabin which sleeps 6 to 8 people. It is equipped with a propane stove, refrigerator, lights and BBQ. A cozy Franklin fireplace is in the comfortably furnished living room. It has hot and cold running water, with a shower; the privy is outdoors.
Last Hope is the only camp on the lake and you will be the only people on the lake. You will have radio contact with the main lodge.
The lake is 8 miles long and has many bays and grassy areas. There is a lot of structure. The fishing is world class, with many trophy-size Northerns in the +20 pound range and Walleyes in 3 to 6 pound range. This lake is the absolute for the fishermen who desire complete isolation with excellent fishing.
The Last Hope Lake Outpost vacation package includes: your float plane flight from the town of Lynn Lake to Last Hope Lake and the return flight, cabin, 16' Lund Boats with new mercury motors every year, good boat seats with backs, all gas, life jackets, nets, paddles, and all taxes.
Keewatin Point Outpost Camp:
Keewatin Point Outpost Camp is located near the mouth of the Keewatin at the north end of Sickle Lake. It is a large 2 bedroom, fully insulated, outpost cabin, built in 1998. The cabin sleeps up to 8 people. For your comfort the cabin has propane fridge, stove and lights, hot running water, and a flush toilet. The living area is large and comfortable with a Franklin fireplace. A gas BBQ is provided. All bedding and towels are supplied. For your peace of mind there is radio contact with the main lodge.
At Keewatin Point Outpost Camp you have access to 4 adjacent lakes via short portages, although the fishing is so great on Sickle Lake that you may choose not to leave it, but the option is there. All of these lakes have boats and motor caches on them.
The Keewatin Point Outpost Camp Packages include the following: your float plane flight from the town of Lynn Lake to Keewatin Point on Sickle Lake and the return flight, cabin, 16' aluminum boat with a new 15 H.P. motor, padded boat seats with backs, all gas, life jackets, nets, paddles, and all taxes.

Golden Eagle Fishing Lodge & Outposts management area offers exclusive fishing rights to a zone of approximately 500 square miles. We are the only lodge on these lakes. Sickle Lake itself is 21 miles long and unique in the fact that it is untouched, just the way nature made it. The Lake was never spoiled by dams and has never been commercially fished. It has always had a catch and release policy. We keep close tabs on the numbers and sizes of fish caught.
The structure of Sickle Lake is fed by two rivers, the Keewatin River and the Council River. There is an awesome series of rapids that are a natural spawning grounds for our Walleye. The shallow bays of our lakes are where the Northern spawn. Chicken Lake, Ghost Lake, Willis Lake, and Black Trout Lake are all just a short portage away. All have boat and motor caches on them for your use. These lakes all have world class fishing.
These lakes have shallow weedy bays, islands, and interesting and unique rock structures. An added advantage of fishing in smaller lakes is that you are able to get out even when weather conditions are unfavorable. Fishing at Golden Eagle Lodge is world class fishing without the added expense of having to fly-out once you have arrived. You do not have to leave the main lake (Sickle) but the choice is there if you wish to try another lake for a different adventure. Fishing guides are available at your request but are not mandatory.
