Dates Open :
June to October
Lake or Area Name :
Macoun Lake, Saskatchewan
Trophy Lake Trout and Northern Pike are in abundance and a thrill to catch. From the secluded bays to the open depths, guests enjoy the tug of the "big one". For the adventurous, we offer out-post lakes just a short hike through the forest. For the fly fisherman, Macoun Lake's whitefish provide challenge and excitement.
Our package includes return airfare from La Ronge, Saskatchewan to Macoun Lake. Boats, motors, gas, freezing facilities and first day guide service are all available.
Macoun Lake Island Lodge is a premiere fly-in fishing camp located on an island in the centre of Macoun Lake, 116 air miles north-east of La Ronge, Saskatchewan.
Our guests enjoy total seclusion, as they are the only ones on 14 by 7 miles of fishing. The water is clear, cold and deep.
The island is the highest land site on the lake. There are trails to the top of the island with a big sandy beach in front of the cabins. There is plenty of smaller wildlife (squirrels, birds and rabbits) on our 2 kilometer square island.
Macoun Lake is open for guests beginning the first week of June each year, and we close towards the end of September.
We accommodate up to 11 people in two guest cabins. Each cabin has a refridgerator, stove, gas BBQ and one bedroom with three bunk beds. Power is supplied by a diesel generator for lights and running water and a hot shower awaits you after a day on the lake.
