Ritchie Falls Resort is located deep within the Algoma Forest and offer the finest in wilderness vacations. Be it hunting, fishing, or hiking and wildlife viewing the remote setting of our two camps will add greatly to your experience.
Ritchie Falls is our main camp accessed by road, and located on the Sauble River at the base of a forty foot cascading water fall. The Sauble is one of the most picturesque rivers to be seen anywhere, with fast running rapids, and quiet deep pools, home to the native Speckle Trout. Wild life abounds along the banks and an early morning canoe trip up the river could bring you sightings of a cow moose and her calf, or a pair of loons with their young, images that make memories
Ritchie Falls Resort is located on the Sauble River and offers excellent fishing for Speckle Trout. Spring in this area is a fly fisherman's dream with many pools and fast eddies to work along the rivers edge. Going up river will bring you to Sauble Lake and some of the finest Lake Trout fishing to be found anywhere, with trophy size fish (+20 lbs. ) being caught both summer and winter. There are remote lakes offering trophy size Speckle Trout as well as pan size Lake Trout in abundance. The network of logging roads will also take you to Pike and Walleye lakes for a days fishing within easy reach of the camp.
Tom and Dianne Pearson along with Dan and Susan Kryzanowski and their daughter Dani live in the remote area year round and operate Ritchie Falls Resort.
We offer a fall bear hunting package that includes accommodations, meals, baited stand sites, and guide assistance. The hunt commences August 15th and ends September 30th. Our bear management area at Ritchie Falls covers 321 square Km.. We also have available a Drop Camp suitable for two to three hunters who wish to hunt remote areas and conduct their own baiting or stalking.
Moosewa Outpost located on Poupore lake also offers remote fishing for Lake Trout as well as Speckles. Well maintained trails will take you from the main lake to a bounty of fish in more remote lakes. Boats and motors are maintained on five of the most popular lakes, with other boats and canoes scattered on more remote locations.
