All of our trips are planned and run by our qualified guides. The Rugged Outdoorsmen offer seven different canoe and fishing routes, making sure there is a package for everyone. Your guide will help you select the route that suits you and your party to ensure an unforgettable trip. As well, trips can be customized to reflect individual needs and interests. Our trips are completely outfitted, meaning that you only need to bring your backpack, sleeping bags and personal items (sleeping bags may be provided if needed). In order to help preserve the park, we adhere to all guidelines and restrictions during our adventure. We respect the environment, so by that token, whatever we bring in, we bring out. This ensures that the natural environment is preserved for future generations.

Back Country Hiking - Superior Park also has a great deal of hiking trails that are excellent for that person who does not care to be in a canoe. Whether it is a day hike on the awausee trail or a two day excursion following the Agawa River to reach the largest falls in the park, we can take you there in comfort.

Fishing - Lake Superior Provincial Park offers plenty of great fishing opportunities for novice to advanced fishermen. After hiking and portaging to the interior lakes of the park, where there is an abundant population of Brook and Lake Trout, your fishing excursion will begin. Choose from staying at a single secluded lake for the duration of your trip or make base camp and portage to various other lakes. The possibilities are endless! No matter what lake you are on our knowledgeable guides will lead the way to where the fish are biting. The novice fishermen can learn many basic fishing techniques like how to tie their own flies, and will be told many helpful tips, while the veteran fishermen can test their fishing abilities. The interior lakes boast clean water, beautiful scenery, and abundant marshes for spectacular wildlife viewing, all of which can be enjoyed while trawling or casting for that trophy catch.

Fly Fishing - Looking to visit Sault Ste. Marie and want to try your luck on the St. Mary’s River? The rapids have a great run of Steelhead in late May and early June and there is an amazing run of salmon fishing in September. Let are guides take you to the rapids for a day of enjoyable fishing and a chance to catch that trophy steelhead or salmon.

Have you ever just needed to get away from the daily grind and explore the natural beauty that Ontario has to offer? Come and let the Rugged Outdoorsmen show you the splendour of Lake Superior. Whether you are looking for a relaxing weekend full of fishing adventures or are willing to test your strength and endurance on one of our awe-inspiring canoe trips, we will have something in store for you! Our experienced and certified guides will provide the equipment and the know how to ensure enjoyment and to encourage your participation.

Lake Superior Provincial Park is one of the largest parks in Ontario, boasting 1550 square kilometres of spectacular northern terrain. There are a variety of landscapes, from the rocky shores and beaches to rushing rivers and waterfalls, thus offering wonderful opportunities for outdoor enjoyment. For the hiking and canoeing enthusiast, 128km of maintained hiking trails and 150km of canoe routes allow access to everything, from the magnificent coastal shoreline to the countless small lakes and rivers, in the park's vast interior. The rugged topography and myriad regions of the park are perfectly complemented by an abundance of wildlife. Moose, bear, red fox, timber wolf, and over 250 species of birds make their home in the park. As well, a great population of Brook and Lake trout in interior lakes make for an anglers dream.

Flat Water Fishing - If you are in need of a getaway from the city and looking for a relaxing outdoor experience; join us for one of our many canoe trips. Our 2-3 day getaways are geared to provide ‘the weekend outdoorsman’ an enjoyable and relaxing outing while gaining basic paddling techniques and camping skills. The idea of these trips is to experience all that canoeing has to offer, from the peaceful serenity of paddling at dusk to the satisfaction of portaging from lake to lake. When not canoeing, your days can include hiking, swimming and indulging in our gourmet meals. The day will end with a signature campfire, exchange of stories and if all goes well, a visit by the Aurora Borealis.
